Brand Extensions & Signage System for Nao Medical

Nao Medical is a chain of Urgent Care clinics across New York — a one-stop shop for all clinical medical needs to be taken care of in the shortest amount of time. Turmeric Design, in partnership with Quick Brown Fox Design, worked on a new brand strategy, name, tone of voice and visual identity for this well-established New York Urgent Care Medical Practice. 

With a brand new name and identity, the collaterals below were designed for the client for immediate use at the start of the rebrand. These designs also aimed to understand and explore the scope of the new visual language as well as create visual systems.


Outdoor Field Marketing Collateral
Various collateral including tents, vans, standees, posters, flyers, flags and tablecloth were designed for when pop-up tents were put up across the city for Covid testing and other similar services. 

Signage
The signage system for Nao Medical had to include both the external facade and the internal navigation system. In addition to a large sign bearing the logo, the external facade included panels that had information regarding the brand, its various locations and a list of services it offers. This design was systematised for three locations. The one below is for Nao Medical Long Island City.

Informative mandatory signs on the entrance door:
The internal system included a number of mandatory legal signs including those pertaining to interpreter services, x-ray guidelines, and equipment sanitisation. There were also some informative signs including a reminder to wash hands, and to scan to register. Some more casual identifier signs were also designed for eye wash station, coffee machine, etc. Since the locations are quite small, directional signage pieces were not needed, nevertheless, identifier signs for exam rooms, etc. were designed.

Visual language of different kinds of signs in the Waiting Lounge space; including the Brand Wall, identifiers on doors, mandatory signs regarding prohibition of weapons and a sign sharing a QR code to check in. 
Identifier signs on doors were simplified — "Exam Room 1" was just "1", "Staff Room" just "Staff" and "Laboratory" just "Lab", in order to keep a lighter, more easy-going tone. Green signs were patient facing, blue were for staff and purple were for general facilities. Below are some different identifier signs designed for use on doors across the location:

Print Material
Print Material including basic stationery (such as Letterheads and Business Cards), Flyers, Brochures, Bookmarks, Forms and Documents, both for internal company use and external customers, were designed.
